Trust me when I say I understand owning horses on a budget. I’ve never been on anything but an extremely tight budget, and always look for ways to save on things they need. I’ve acquired quite a few discount codes on products I love and use daily. You can find them on this page along with more info on each!

Omega Horseshine for overall wellness. Made with super high quality flax, it especially helps with skin & coat health, but I noticed a big difference in my horses’ overall wellness and endurance when I started feeding it. I’ve tried many of the herbal supplements from Silver Lining Herbs, and I think they’re awesome. When Adee first arrived, the Mare Moods made a huge difference for her. I still have a bag just in case she needs the extra support, but he has been great all year without it. I feed their Herbal Dewormer every other full moon cycle. They LOVE the addition to their buckets, but I know some horses are less excited about the taste of herbs!
The only blend I didn’t love the smell of was the Feet & Bone, which smells a bit bitter…the horses didn’t mind it though. Tucker got all three of the herbs on the table in his bucket all winter, and he had a really good winter! I would definitely have my horses on more of these supplements if I had the budget.
We added Equinox Mud Grids to our pasture last year, and have since rearranged them into three separate feeding stations. They’ve provided sturdy footing that doesn’t shift around, keeping the ground protected so it stays mud and dust-free all year long.
The mats interlock together, and are designed for both sides to be very good at staying where you place them. Unlike stall mats, you don’t have to constantly reset them, and I love that.
Our biggest problem was erosion around feeding stations, since the ground would become so dusty and literally blow away. Then in winter, those areas would be dangerously muddy and slippery. These have solved both problems, giving the horses safe and comfortable areas to hangout and eat.
We’ve also used a couple in a high traffic gate, and they have been incredible used for this purpose too!
